SailPoint moves to acquire Entro for AI identity security
SailPoint said it plans to acquire Tel Aviv-based Entro in a deal aimed at expanding its identity security capabilities for AI agents and other non-human identities.
The company said the transaction would strengthen its recently launched Agentic Fabric platform, which is designed to address identity security challenges tied to AI agents and automated workloads. Financial terms were not disclosed, and SailPoint said the acquisition is expected to close during its third quarter of fiscal 2027, subject to customary closing conditions.
Entro, founded in Israel, focuses on discovering and securing non-human identities such as secrets, keys, certificates, and tokens used across cloud environments and automated workflows. SailPoint said adding Entro’s technology would broaden its ability to deliver visibility, governance, and protection for human identities, machine identities, and autonomous AI agents through a unified platform.
According to SailPoint, Entro provides agentless discovery of more than 1,000 non-human identity and AI agent types. The company also identifies more than 1,200 credential types across over 70 enterprise sources, including cloud platforms, developer tools, CI/CD pipelines, and SaaS environments.
SailPoint said Entro’s lineage mapping technology enables organizations to connect non-human identities to human owners, helping support accountability, access governance, and remediation. Entro also brings Non-Human Identity Detection and Response (NHIDR) capabilities, which continuously monitor machine identities and AI agents for anomalous behavior and help detect excessive privileges and automate threat responses.
SailPoint said the combined technologies are intended to help customers move beyond traditional perimeter-based security models and address risks associated with AI-driven environments and autonomous systems.
"The recent launch of our Agentic Fabric established a new paradigm for securing autonomous AI agents and non-human identities at scale, including native discovery, governance and protection. By bringing Entro’s powerful and complementary technology into our SailPoint platform, we will be giving our customers an even bigger advantage: frictionless, complete visibility into every non-human identity and - crucially - the context and credentials they use to access critical corporate data."
Mark McClain, CEO and Founder, SailPoint
"We built Entro with a clear mission: to secure the modern cloud by discovering and protecting the sheer volume of credentials and non-human identities powering it. As enterprises embrace more automation and agentic workloads, this massive identity layer is only becoming more critical to protect. We are excited to integrate our deep, seamless discovery and lineage mapping engine into SailPoint’s comprehensive identity security framework and Agentic Fabric. Together, our combined non-human and AI capabilities will supercharge SailPoint’s proven ability to secure every identity, human and non-human, across the global enterprise landscape."
